Gender Budgeting Workshop

A workshop was conducted for the rural women from women's movements on Gender Budgeting Tamilnadu Social Watch Mrs. Kamatchi was a resource person. she explained about gender budgeting and how it was implemented in India in 1995 and in Tamilnadu, only the 2017 gender budget was implemented there is no awareness among the people on gender budgeting.

She gave an example of how Kerala was successful in implementing gender budgeting at the panchayat level. Tamilnadu Government Practicing Gender Budgeting in all departments. more meetings will be conducted to create awareness through rural women to demand an equal share in the general budget for women.
