One Billion Rising – Global Campaign

One Billion Rising(OBR) is a global campaign to end violence against women and rise for freedom. This campaign is against sexual harassment, rape, hate, exclusion, killing, discrimination, exploitation, abuse, wars, division, and control. The events are organized by various women’s organizations across the globe. Every year SRED joins the global action of OBR.

SRED along with Tamilnadu Women’s Forum, Tamilnadu Dalit Women’s Movement observe OBR against caste discrimination, patriarchy, violence against Dalits and women, freedom from Pesticides-GMO and for food sovereignty and protection of Biodiversity. District level events are organized like rallies, public meetings, speeches, pamphlet distribution, sloganeering, cultural programs, caravan events and open house discussions. These programs give visibility to issues of Dalit and Tribal women.
