On November 14 (Children’s Day), a food festival was held in Anaikattaputtur village, Arakkonam taluka, Ranipet district. About 60 people, including children and adults, participated. Traditional dishes were prepared using small grains.

Shanthi spoke to the children about the health benefits of small grains and advised them to avoid fast food and junk food. She encouraged everyone to cook healthy dishes like dal, pongal, dosa, and kali. She explained that eating natural, pesticide-free grains and vegetables helps prevent obesity and diabetes, strengthens the heart, and improves eyesight.

A collective farm has been established in the village, and work is underway to expand it. Women were also given collective farm membership cards, Shanthi said.
Children took part in sports competitions and learned about Jawaharlal Nehru. Ten women led the event and served natural foods such as sprouted millet, drumstick soup, green gram stew, chickpeas, and aul.

The gathering ended with slogans:
Let's protect the environment
Sustainable food, water, and air are essential
Let's protect, protect, protect natural foods
Let's use, use, use natural fertilizers
We want, we want, natural food
We don't want, we don't want pesticides
We want, we want, women want land
